SUPER LOADS

Class 6 or 7 permit

Permits are issued on a case-by-case basis. When the Department determines that a load needs special approval they will ask for drawings which must include axle weights, spacings and tire sizes. They will also require a Shipper's Letter which must contain: Load description, dimensions of piece, overall dimensions, origin of load with physical address, destination of load with physical address, reason load cannot be reduced, and reason why it cannot be shipped by another mode of transportation.

Escort vehicle requirements can differ significantly by province in terms of mandatory driver qualifications, training, certifications, vehicle weights, obligatory signage/flags/lighting, necessary onboard equipment, and more. The ODS team can provide you with all additional requirements specific to your route.
